Upcoming weekend marks the kickoff for our international equestrian sports festival CHI Pärnu 2025, celebratings our fifth birthday at Maria Farm, Pärnu. This year, our event includes World Cup legs for dressage and show jumping riders, as well as international driving and eventing competitions.
The opening weekend of the three-week competition cycle will be dedicated to dressage riders, who, alongside other competition classes will be competing for Central European World Cup league points. Estonian representatives at World Cup level are Dina Ellermann and Donna Anna, accompanied by athletes from Finland, Latvia, and Lithuania. The World cup competition class – musical freestyle will take place at noon on Sunday, May 25.
In our second week, show jumpers will begin their two-week competition tour, with the World Cup leg taking place on Sunday, June 8. While World Cup points will be earned in a single show jumping class, the world rankings — the Longines Ranking — will also be influenced by the Grand Prix at 1st of June and the 145 cm jumping course on June 6th, as well as the World Cup class with obstacle heights up to 160 cm.
Unfortunately, Estonia’s absolute top riders will not be competing in Pärnu as the national team will be participating in Nations Cup events in Denmark and Norway shortly beforehand. However, other Estonian well-known athletes such as last year’s Grand Prix winner Urmas Raag, alongside to Gunnar Klettenberg, Rein Pill, Tiit Kivisild, Hanno Ellermann, Renek Rosenberg and others will take part of CHI Pärnu 2025. Among the region’s best, notable participants include Latvian Kristaps Neretnieks, who competed at the Paris Olympic Games, and Lithuanian Andrius Petrovas, among several others.”
In addition to the show jumpers, the second week will also welcome driving athletes, while in the third week for the first time in CHI Pärnu’s history – an international-level eventing competitions will be held. The exciting cross-country competition is scheduled for Saturday, June 7th.
